Public Access Computers 

50p per half hour / £1 per hour



Our public access computers are top of the range PCs, updated to the latest version. They are intended for use of the general public, and can be used for a wide array of purposes from job-searching to schoolwork.


To gain access to the public access computers, please ask a member of staff.


Coalburn One Stop Shop consider internet safety to be one of our top priorities and so everybody who use our computers are asked to abide by our internet safety terms that are stated clearly beside each computer.


Printing Service

Scanning, Photocopying, E-mailing and laminating are available for a small charge.

If you wish to use our service, please print out your documents via our public access computers. 


Please note: As our printer is situated inside our office, all documents to be printed must be approved beforehand.


Rug Doctor

To rent the rug doctor from the One Stop Shop, you must provide two forms of Identification:

A recent household bill OR bank OR credit card statement  

AND a driving licence OR credit card OR passport. 



Cost of Rug Doctor hire is as follows -

2 Day Hire £20


Cost of Wide Track Rug Doctor is as follows -

1 Day Hire £20

2 Day Hire £25


Genuine Cleaner to be purchased with the hire at £6 a litre.


Citizen's Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) service is a network of bureaux throughout the British Isles. Wherever it is found, a CAB offers an advice service that is free, independent, confidential and impartial. Additionally CAB campaign on current issues and provide feedback to the government on the effects of social policy.


Monday afternoon from 1.30pm to 4.30pm

No appointment is necessary


CISWO Social Worker

CISWO is a national charity, which provides help, advice, guidance and support to mine-workers, former mine-workers, widows of mine-workers, as well as working with others in addressing social need in the wider coalfield community.  They can also offer advice and support to others not connected to the mining industry. Myrette Bracken is now based and is available in the One Stop Shop and can offer advice on several matters, including:  Benefits Advice; Holidays / Convalescence; Financial Matters including Hardship; Health/Disability Issues & General Support including Bereavement.
